Waterfowl Hunting - Pierre, South Dakota

We are fortunate to be located in a major waterfowl staging area in the Central Flyway. Each year around a half million geese stop here on their migration south. Canada geese are the primary species but at certain times you will encounter large flocks of white fronts, snow and blue geese along with mallard ducks.

Three day - Four night waterfowl hunt - $1250 per gun.

DGC has been stacking up geese for clients for 16 years. We are located half a mile of the Missouri River, 18 miles east of Pierre on Hwy 34. Our season goes till mid-Feburary and the fly stays pretty constant till that last day.

The Etzkorn family has also been in the commercial waterfowl hunting business for 30 years. We can provide for a combination hunting trip of pheasants, Canada Geese, and/or Mallard ducks and never leave the ranch. This is a unique and rare combination package to find which can make your hunting trip an experience that other outfitters can not supply.

My waterfowl hunting schedule depends on goose/duck movements and the weather. I also offer combination trips which include both fishing and hunting. I have over 20,000 acres of private land available for you to hunt. In order for my hunts to remain personalized, I only hunt groups of ten or smaller at a time.

The art of deception is nothing like trying to pull in hundreds of air whistling wings of Canadian geese within shooting range of shotguns. Whether you are in a pit or from a ground blind, we will offer the most comfort and concealment from thousands of eyes looking down. NTA offers the chance to bag a daily limit of 4 Canadian Geese over full body goose decoys. NTA prides itself in the ability to be the only guide service in the area to guarantee the success of decoying geese or your license is paid for! (Ducks, Snows, Whitefronts can be harvested, depending on season dates)

Our new hunting area, just ten minutes from the lodge will feature two separate shooting areas. Both areas are equipped with comfortable, state of the art, underground pits. Your hunt for both ducks and geese will be over decoys and of course be fully guided. Waterfowl hunting is always best after mid-November so make your reservations accordingly.

Pierre is the home to hundreds of thousands of waterfowl in the fall and winter. Plan to hunt either in the field with decoys or pass shooting from one of the best views of the entire river system You will NOT be disappointed in this experience.

Our goose hunts are all done on private land. We offer bluff hunting where we pass shoot geese or field hunting where we set up decoys and use flags and calls to entice them to come in. Pierre, S.D., is in the heart of the Central flyway and has some of the greatest Canada goose hunting in the United States.

Cheyenne Ridge Outfitters & Lodge offers some of the finest goose hunting available. These hunts feature close range shooting over decoys. We are endorsed by Bass Pro Shop, use experienced guides and have access to numerous parcels of land that allow us to 'move' with the geese.

Around the beginning of November the Canada geese, snows and speckle bellies also pass through this area. Upwards of some 650,000 ducks and geese spend several months of the fall in the 30-mile radius of Pierre during the peak of the migration. Waterfowl hunts can be combined with the pheasant hunt, hunting both in the same day.
